On the morning of May 24, 2025, The 8th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data (ICAIBD 2025) opened at Chengdu University.

Attending the conference were over 200 experts and scholars in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data from domestic and international universities and research institutions, including Zhang Jingzhong (academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences), Shi Zhiming (President of Sichuan Province Computer Federation), Zhou Jiliu (former Party Secretary at Chengdu University of Information Technology), Li Youfu (IEEE Fellow and Professor at the City University of Hong Kong), Ying Hao (IEEE Fellow and Professor at Wayne State University), and Andrew Lim (Professor at Southwest Jiaotong University). Zhu Ming, President of Chengdu University, attended the event and delivered a speech.
Zhu Ming welcomed all the guests attending the conference on behalf of university and presented an overview of its recent development. He highlighted that AI and big data technologies are reshaping the global landscape at an unprecedented pace, constantly transcending disciplinary boundaries through technology innovations. Chengdu University places great importance on AI applications and has made digitalization one of its four major development strategies. The university has actively promoted the deep integration of AI into its educational framework. The College of Computer Science at Chengdu University has established a distinctive system that integrates industry, university, and research. He expressed hope that this conference would serve as a platform to deepen cooperation with experts, accelerate the transformation of related technologies, support the growth of the next generation of scholars, and foster a new chapter in AI-driven human well-being through data sharing and the co-creation of international standards.
Professors Li Youfu, Ying Hao, and Andrew Lim delivered keynote speeches at the conference. Professor Li Youfu presented a report titled "Visual Perception and Tracking for Advanced Robots", which introduced cutting-edge research on robot visual perception and autonomous behavior control. Professor Ying Hao discussed "Supervised Learning for Deterministic and Stochastic Fuzzy Discrete Event Systems", highlighting the latest applications of AI in intelligent control systems. Professor Andrew Lim delivered a report titled "Frontier Research on Artificial Intelligence, Optimization, and Simulation in Supply Chains". He analyzed the emerging trend of integrating AI with the optimization of operations from an industrial application perspective.
ICAIBD 2025 also included four invited presentations, five offline oral sessions, nine online oral sessions, one offline poster display session, and a visit to technology companies. It created a comprehensive and multifaceted communication platform for participants. Through various levels and formats of academic discussions and exhibitions, the conference enhanced interactions and fostered coordinated development between academia and industry.

ICAIBD 2025 was jointly sponsored by the Sichuan Province Computer Federation and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). It was co-organized by Sichuan University, Chengdu University of Information Technology, Southwest Jiaotong University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Civil Aviation Flight University of China, and Xihua University, and hosted by Chengdu University. The conference included both online and offline participation.
Since its establishment in 2018, the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data (ICAIBD) has been held for seven sessions. The conference has achieved high-quality publication results and maintained strong search records, earning widespread recognition and praise from both domestic and international academic communities. As a premier international conference developed by the Sichuan Province Computer Federation, ICAIBD has significantly contributed to advancing research on AI and big data in China and expanding the nation's international influence. The conference was recognized as one of the "Top Ten Most Influential Academic Activities in Sichuan and Chongqing" for three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022 and received commendation at the Sichuan Chongqing Science and Technology Academic Conference. Moreover, it was included in the Top Academic Conferences 2023 developed by the China Association for Science and Technology during ICAIBD 2023, which further solidified its academic status across the country.
